The founder of Brhma Vidya Mission ,
Sri K.S. Ramanathan was born in Kerala on the 31st of July 1922 to pious and humble Hindu Brahmins. During that time, the family astrologer had predicted that a “yogi” is born in the family to torch the lamp of many human beings.
Right from a young age, this noble boy was affectionate to one and all. He had a kind of compassion and maternal feelings towards one and all of humanity. He would sit into deep meditations as he grew up and had glimpses of the divine light from a young age. He was trained into chanting on the thousand names of the Divine Mother name by his father Sri Swaminath.
Even, at a small age of 8 yrs, He got rains at the power of his divine will and would ask his school friends when they want it. And lo, he would say,”OK, at such and such day ,at such and such time. It would rain. Lo, on that particular day at the arrival time. The clouds would gather and it would rain. Even though, it was not a rainy season. His friends would then clap and dance merrily at the arrival of the rain .
Strangest of all, even his own mother, prostrated before this young boy, when she saw the divinity manifested in him. When puzzled, young Rama than asked his mother, what are you doing Amma, I am your Son ? . And she then answered, “My son, I am prostrating to the divine being in you”.
Well, as an young boy, young Ramanathan saw visions of light and other mystical phenomenon that led him to seek the inner meanings and purpose of life. His earnest spiritual interests led him to read information regarding an article about light in a library from an Englishman named Edwin John Dingle.
He then wrote to Edwin John Dingle for teaching him the wonderful yogic science. Young Edwin John Dingle loving called as Ding Le Mei, got these teachings from mystic Himalayan Regions of Tibet, where he found his master of his former birth who was 152yrs of age, . Ding Le Mei did not realize during his long pilgrimage to Tibet earlier was to meet his own master who was a “chela” along with him in his former birth.
Strange is nature, mysterious are the ways and laws of the UNIVERSE. God ways too are strange, mysterious and unknown, Modern man finds it difficult to comprehend and even understand the mystical laws of the human mind . Modern science does not have instruments to measure the higher realms of consciousness so that common man can understand and systematically believe that Yogic Science is indeed vast and deep.. Modern man has to understand that the ancient “Rishis” made their bodies , their lives, laboratories and looked inside their bodies. They understood that life is a serious of breaths and that breath and mind are both inter—linked. Breath is the barometer for both the body and the mind. The entire mystery of life and summum bonum of life is in the ‘prana’ that rides the breath guarding the city of life. Man is indeed a citizen of two worlds , the inner and the outer world. He must build a bridge to create a harmony in the both the worlds. Live skillfully and love selflessly.
Guru K.S Ramanathan was guided by Ding Le Mei and was ordained to become a preceptor to spread the light and art of joyful living in this part of Asia. He thus founded BRAMHA VIDYA MISSION and started teaching this science from 7th August 1977 beginning at Dombivali, travelling in second class rail compartments after finishing his work at Tardeo to reach all kinds of seekers. He would even go and teach in far flung regions, i.e Borivali, Andheri, Tardeo, Mulund, Chembur, Prabhadevi etc.
Guru Ramanathan was later honored as Guru Jyotirmayananda in The Institute of MentalPhysics ,USA in the year 1984. Ding Le Mei’s wife was happy to receive him and also present him with a platinum ring , a coat worn by Guru Ding Le Mei as Guru Ding LE Mei had a vision that the yogi from India will come. Shri K.S.Ramanathan the founder of Brhma Vidya Mission was loving called as Guruji by many of his seekers and /disciples who came from all walks of life cut across caste, religion, creed and sex. For him the language of humanity is the language of love where differences, of caste, religion, creed and race did not really matter. He saw divinity moving through the human temples, unfortunately man does not yet know that he is carrying infinity in a finite vessel. He taught that the life force is never born, nor does it die. When the aspirant firmly believes in the existence of the individual soul , not as a part and parcel of the Absolute Truth, but identical to, and essentially one with it , then he or she can directly experience the immeasurable , imperishable joy. Provided they practice earnestly and sincerely.
Guruji also used to heal several people of their illness. Several thousand students in Mumbai were fortunate to learn these practices from Guruji and they have benefited immensely from them.
Brahma Vidya practice assures Health of Body and Peace of Mind for sincere practitioners and paves the way for self—realization. Many have become free of various ailments in this stress free life. Some have become extremely successful in their sphere of activity be it a businessman, a lawyer, a teacher , a professor , a student , a housewife etc, every one has learnt the art of living . Brahma Vidya Mission classes are conducted at several centers in Dombivli, Chembur , Dadar and other places.
He taught everyone that unless the aspirants successfully tread the path of light with the help of self—analysis and self control to realize the finer aspects of life , only then they can attain the highest good self realization. Until then all are just seekers. Guru Jyotirmanayanda left his mortal coil on March 19 2004 . He has not appointed any spiritual successor.
Ding Le Mei, a great philosopher of repute, passed on to us “The Greatest Teaching Accessible to Man (Brahma Vidya) through his chosen disciple and through our Guru Jyotirmayananda. In ancient days, Brahma Vidya was taught by great teachers in the ancient Sanskrit language, by word of mouth, Sanskrit has been neglected as a spoken language, over the passage of years. Guru Ding Le Mei, founder of The Science of Mental physics, was born in England in 1881, he came and his mother went. There was no rejoicing. About the same time in the forbidden land of Tibet in a weird temple wise men were mourning the passing of a beloved lama. These wise men, believer in re—incarnation knew he would come back in another body form... God ways are strange, mysterious and unknown, though the two events took place in two different opposite sides of the world, though one group spoke English and another an ancient Asian tongue, though one was from the East and the other West there was a link —it was ordained by the higher ones that in the boy just born the twain shall at last meet. As a young boy, Edwin John Dingle sang in the church, was a member of the band and used to compete with his brother in”reading for speed” in learning shorthand so that he could become a verbatim shorthand reporter, strange are the ways of nature or destiny as we may call, Dingle interest into shorthand, his apprentice in printing and kindred trades, made him to become in charge of a well known newspaper —the Straits Times in Singapore. After getting initiated by the sage of Singapore. Guru Ding Le Mei was instructed in certain methods and practices. He sought the knowledge of the teachings of the East. After reaching a certain point in his Sadhana, however the sage refused to teach him further unless he made a long pilgrimage. Ding Le Mei did not realize then that this long pilgrimage was to be to Tibet to meet his own spiritual master who was a “chela” along with him in his former birth. Guru Ding Le Mei learned many advanced mysteries from his master after he entered with awe the strangely familiar temple when he had almost collapsed together and remained unconscious for four days and four nights and on the fifth day there stood between him and the doorway his great master. Truth is always stronger than any fiction. Under this noble sage he learnt many life’s mysteries. Upon his return to the West, he began sharing the teachings and practices he had learned in Tibet, first in New York and later in Los Angeles, California, where he began the Institute of Mental physics in 1927... In 1941 the Mental physics Spiritual Teaching and Retreat Center was dedicated in Yucca Valley (now Joshua Tree). Ding Le Mei passed from this life in 1972. This great teacher was an understanding soul had the rarest of abilities not only to learn the mysteries, but to impart them to many of his students and in India through Brahma Vidya Mission which the whole human race is unconsciously seeking as these lessons has the ability to transmit the ancient mysteries to real seekers. We, who have heard of him from our Guruji, feel that he has sat again and again at the feet of his Masters. The wonderful science of Mentalphysics has come to many in India through his chosen disciple i.e. Preceptor K.S.Ramanathan (July 31st 1922 to March 19th 2004) alias Guru Jyotirmayananda, a born yogi, to guide many toiling pilgrims on the noble path way of realization. Many disciples silently and reverently thank him .
